A soccer stadium that benefits the whole city of Nashville
The $275 million stadium planned for the Fairgrounds is about more than just soccer.
What’s At Stake?
A recent economic impact study found that construction of the stadium will create:
- 3,500 full-time equivalent jobs
- $139 million in income for Tennessee workers & businesses
- $18 million in state & local taxes
Starting in 2020, operations is expected to create an additional:
- 1,886 jobs
- $78 million in annual income
- $15 million in annual tax revenues.
A Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) is needed to make sure that these are good jobs & economic benefits are shared equitably, & the community has a seat at the table.

How Will A CBA Create Better Outcomes?
A CBA is a legal contract between a developer & community coalition that includes things like local hiring priorities, living wage jobs, job readiness training, apprenticeships, affordable housing, youth programs, grocery stores, environmental sustainability benchmarks, sidewalks, & parks.
CBAs are being used across the country to establish a more equitable & inclusive approach to economic development. A CBA on the MLS stadium will create pathways out of poverty for residents currently being excluded from Nashville’s growth & prosperity.
Using tens of millions of public dollars & land to create more dead-end jobs, displacement of vulnerable residents, and debt that jeopardizes vital public services like schools JUST WON’T DO!
Metro Council still has to authorize demolition at the Fairgrounds with 27 votes for the project to move forward.
The time is now to demand that public investments benefit the whole community, not just the developers!
