Our racial and economic equity lenses are the bedrock of how we organize. We engage with the people of Nashville and work towards our vision of a city where the common good is rooted in equality, dignity and the opportunity for all people to enjoy a better quality of life.

Together we challenge powerful individuals, ideas and policies in our community and don’t back down from the hard questions. We relentlessly fight for what’s right!

Want to get more involved? Sign up as a volunteer to report on development in your community, attend boards and commission meetings, organize events and action, wear our t-shirts, take photos at events or help in any other way you can!

Stand Up Nashville (SUN) addresses racial and economic inequality through strategic research, popular education, and organizing. We inspire and empower our diverse base to build a stronger community that values the lives of Nashville’s people of color and working families. By organizing our communities, SUN fights poverty with strategic action around public investment and city planning to create thriving neighborhoods and shared prosperity.
 

We will tirelessly and courageously fight injustice and organize our community to take action.
